পৃথিবীর বিভিন্ন দেশের অবস্থান অনুসারে স্থানীয় সময় ও প্রমাণ সময়ের মধ্যে পার্থক্য থাকে। আন্তর্জাতিক তারিখ রেখা থেকে দেশের অবস্থান অনুসারে এ সময় গণনা করা হয়। আমাদের দেশের সময় গ্রিনিচ সময় থেকে ৬ ঘণ্টা এগিয়ে, যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের সময় ৬ ঘণ্টা পিছিয়ে। ফলে আমাদের দেশে যখন ১৬ এপ্রিল সন্ধ্যা ৬টা, যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে তখন ১৫ এপ্রিল সন্ধ্যা ৬ টা। সুতরাং একই সময় সন্ধ্যা ৬ টায় বাংলাদেশে ও যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে জন্মগ্রহণকারী দুই ব্যক্তির জন্মদিন এক হবে না।
